Edward Mandell House quote.

I asked a friend of mine for a quote from a book he owned. This was the e-mail he gave me. It is good to note that the author of this quote was President Woodrow Wilsons (the federal reserve act)right hand man, and advisor to President Roosevelt (the new deal, social security). I have the quote and my friends comments left intact. Hope you enjoy.

The quote comes from the book “Philip Dru: Administrator” by Edward Mandell House (published in 1912). In this novel, House puts the sentence in question into the mouth of his protagonist Philip Dru, a man who essentially becomes a (supposed) benevolent dictator after succeeding in bringing about a military coup in the United States and overturning the U.S. Constitution by making his own national political policies as all dictators do.

The reference to Marxism appears in Chapter VI, “The Prophet Of A New Day.” Philip Dru is engaging in political debate with a man named Strawn prior to the revolution. Dru says: “You take it for granted that man must have in sight some material reward in order to bring forth the best there is within him. I believe that mankind is awakening to the fact that material compensation is far less to be desired than spiritual compensation. This feeling will grow, it is growing, and when it comes to full fruition, the world will find but little difficulty in attaining a certain measure of altruism. I agree with you that this much-to-be desired state of society cannot be altogether reached by laws, however drastic. Socialism as dreamed of by Karl Marx cannot be entirely brought about by a comprehensive system of state ownership and by the leveling of wealth. If that were done without a spiritual leavening, the result would be largely as you suggest.”

It’s important to note that Dru has implied that the basic idea of Marxism leads to a desirable state, but he feels that some adjustments (in the form of a “spiritual leavening”) need to be applied to the Marxist model to make it practicable. It’s no coincidence that what we see happening around us, although Socialistic, and Marxist on some levels, is not pure Marxism. We seem to be led down some semi-Red Socialistic path predicted by House.

In my copy of the book, I added this personal note in the margin where the above passage appears: “He never gives any detail about this spirituality! What is it? From where does it originate? Is Dru going to dictate religion to us as he does diet and funeral procedures? (pgs. 161, 211).”

I will add that I find it interesting that he used the term “spiritual leavening.” As you and I know, Marc, not all that is spiritual is good. People tend to equate the word spiritual with “of God”, but demons also operate as spiritual entities in a spiritual world. So, the word “spiritual” in “spiritual leavening” cannot automatically be assumed to mean something good. And what about that word “leavening”? In the Bible, “leaven” is sometimes used as a symbol for sin. I doubt that House meant to imply this “spiritual leavening” was some sort of demonic sin, because I kind of doubt he had that much insight into The Holy Bible. But it’s fun to entertain the thought that perhaps it was God who directed House’s words to further expose his evil agenda. Just a whimsical contemplation on my part. There are several odd and questionable phrases and ideas that show up in this book which are worth further speculation.

My copy of Philip Dru: Administrator has an appendix which includes a letter House wrote explaining his purpose for writing the book. At one point in the letter he writes: “For a long time it had seemed to me that our Government was too complicated in its machinery and that we had outgrown our Constitution. It has been by constant wonder that our people were willing to go along without protest with such an inefficient machine.” So, in short, House wrote the book in order to propose what American government would look like if some wise, benevolent dictator came along and overthrew it in order to reform it. Therefore, the words that the book’s protagonist Philip Dru speaks represent the ideas of its author Edward Mandell House.

By the way, although the book is very valuable because it exposes the treasonous thinking of this man who was a principal advisor to presidents Wilson and Roosevelt, and who was behind the forming of the League of Nations and the United Nations, as well as a player in the bringing about of The Federal Reserve, as a novel, “Philip Dru: Administrator” is probably the worst writing I’ve ever read. I mean, it is so poorly written that one can only struggle through it if he or she is truly interested in learning what treason this man’s mind contained. Which goes to show that House was actually as bad a writer as he was a thinker. Hope this helps.

  1. Br’er Marc:
I happen to own an 8-page pamphlet written by Larry Greenley and titled “Colonel House: Conspirator; A Practical Guide To Reading Philip Dru: Administrator.” It was put out by RWU Press in conjunction with their 1998 reprint of Edward Mandell House’s book. Here are a few excerpts that might interest you:

“The value of this new edition has been greatly increased by a masterful Foreward to the 1998 Edition by William Norman Grigg, Senior Editor of The New American [magazine], and four Publisher’s Appendices consisting of primary source documents about the author, Edward Mandell House. Regarding the influence of Philip Dru on American politics, Grigg points out that “the anti-constitutional innovations that were brought about during Wilson’s tenure – particularly the imposition of the income tax and the Federal Reserve System – were directly derived from Dru.” And, according to Grigg, “The Philip Dru vision was only partially consummated by Wilson; FDR was much more successful.” ...

“... Grigg informs us that in 1954, columnist Westbrook Pegler wrote this about House: “Wilson’s Rasputin, the most influential private citizen in America and indeed one of the most powerful human beings in all the world, copyrighted Fascism ... [E]ven today, few citizens have heard of [Philip Dru] and hardly one in a million has read it. ... And, of course, the press will still ignore it diligently. ... Practically all our historians and our teaching professors either know nothing about all this or refuse to teach this historical information to their students. One of the most important political documents of our age has been blacked out.”

“Concerning the overall historical importance of Philip Dru, Grigg concludes: “Philip Dru: Administrator is arguably the most influential political tract of the twentieth century. Its influence has been written in blood and paid for in the coin of stolen liberties.” ”

Under the category “Biographical Sketch Of The Author, Edward Mandell House”, Greenley writes: Edward Mandell House was also known as Colonel House. The title was honorary. House’s very impressive resume includes: son of a wealthy Texas planter; a “kingmaker” in Texas politics 1892-1902; a top agent for the New York international bankers; mastermind of Woodrow Wilson’s election as President in 1912; chief advisor to Woodrow Wilson during his administration from 1913 until 1921; the “unseen guardian angel” of the Federal Reserve in 1913; one of the founders of the League of Nations; founder of the Council on Foreign Relations in 1921; and important advisor to President Franklin Roosevelt in the 1930s. In short, Edward Mandell House was one of the most important Insiders of the 20th century, a master conspirator. House published Philip Dru anonymously in 1912.

Under the category of “First, Educate Yourself About The Conspiracy” in this same pamphlet by Greenley is this: Get an overview of the Conspiracy that Colonel House served. Read the “Conspiracy For Global Control” special issue of The New American magazine. This 80-page magazine is packed with information on the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the organization that Colonel House founded in 1921. Members of the CFR played the leading role in the formation of the United Nations in 1945. There are tables in the “Conspiracy For Global Control” issue that show that every presidential Administration for the last few decades has been dominated by CFR appointees no matter which party wins the presidential election. Finally, this 80-page issue presents the history, objectives, strategy, and common tactics of the Conspiracy.

Brother, I have the special issue mentioned above and it contains more information than some full-sized books I’ve read. I may have an extra copy of it around the house somewhere that I could mail to you if you don’t already have a copy and would like one.

  2. I would love it. Maybe if you don't have an extra they might be able to sell me a copy. WHo knows.

Thank you for the information. Like the Jenner quote you are the brains behind this post.

  3. I know that I used to have a number of copies of that issue for distributing to others, Br'er, and so I'm pretty sure I must have at least one extra copy around here still. I'll look, and if I come up with one, I'll e-mail ya just before sending it.

  4. I've been thinking about this quote which is why I have now purchased the book. It is painfull and bad writing as you stated.

Since the book is really about an over throw of our government, and subsequently it being replaced with fascism it got me thinking.

Amazing how House wrote about Fascism prior to Moussolini. Funny thing also about this "spiritual leavening." I can only assume this is a world religion. Much like all other globalist plans by the elite. But he might have meant sin. Think back at 1912 and now. Look at all the blatant lecherous behavior we see not only from society but our own politicians (Bill Clinton). Maybe people will tolerate or accept this world religion because it's self worship, and the government gives them their bread. We have a society of individuals who don't think, want hand outs, and have NO impulse control. It's to the point where it's not what they do behind closed doors but right out in full public view.

In closing, I believe House may have seen this as a needed step. It's difficult to know because he wouldn't have been able to be that up front until recent history. America had it's chance to stop this sinking ship during McCarthy's time as senator. Sadly, only the rear quarters of the titanic are barely peering above the water. Our freedoms will soon be at the bottom of the ocean so to speak.

  5. "spirit leavening" . Let's take the word "leavening"..Webster's 1898 page 655 2.Any thing which makes a general change in the mass.
It generally means something which corrupts or depraves that with which it is mixed. Now, "spiritual" page 1065 1. Consisting of spirit; not material [no substance]; incorporeal....Can't one see what's happened with the education system? medicine? etc.? But especially the law with the 11th -27th amendment to the Constitution, the state constitutions the and REVISED STATUTES of all the states, Federal Reserve Act, and in particular the Social Security Act. The SSA is the nexus "enacted" Aug. 14th 1935 2 years after the insolvency (HJR-192)of the nation which the bankers caused in the first place. The ancient system of pledging that Colonel House refers to is that trust called Social Security. When the people put their signature on that form they walked away from the protections of Article 1 Sec. 10 the contract clause of the Constitution into the jusisdiction of the bankers trust and all their unilateral and adhesion contracts. Now we are debtors and are liable for this phoney debt that doesn't exist. The good news is that it is voluntary...we can withdraw. SS has a withdrawal form....but you can't collect SS, unemployment, food stamps etc. NO ONE having collected, can withdraw unless they've repaid their benefits. That does NOT include repaying any unemployment benefits, welfare, food stamps etc., just Social Security. People need to rely on themselves. Licensing, property taxes, fines, fees, go to the company STATE OF...., or ......COUNTY listed on Dun and Bradstreet...look it up. Everything is in ALL CAPS including your name. You will have to go to court to get out of these contracts (licensing, taxes), but the judges have been brainwashed and have only been taught the bankers private law (compartmentalized)in which they have control of the law schools otherwise known as a "spiritual leavening".
